Sudan's Hamdok acts against 'terror groups' in bid to end sanctions

Earlier this month, Sudan's Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok became the first leader of the country to visit Washington since 1985 as he bid to have his country removed from the United States list of state sponsors of terrorism.

During Hamdok's five-day trip, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the United States and Sudan planned to begin exchanging ambassadors again after a 23-year gap.
