Man who ignited explosives when cornered by officers sentenced to 40 years in federal prison

A federal judge Friday sentenced Jason P. Schaefer to 40 years in prison, calling him an “extraordinarily dangerous individual,’’ for igniting a cigarette pack filled with explosive material as he was cornered in his car by members of the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force.
