Islamic State 'most active' in southern states according to NIA probe, MHA tells Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: Ministry of Home Affairs told the Rajya Sabha Wednesday that bsed on investigation in a series of cases , National Investigation Agency (NIA) has stated that Islamic State (IS) has a strong presence in the southern states of India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana.

According to the MHA, the NIA has registered 17 cases related to the presence of IS in the southern states and arrested 122 suspects.
