Emmanuel Macron in Mali: France committed to fighting terrorism

French President Macron's visit to Mali was his first official trip outside Europe since taking power. He met with his Malian counterpart, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, as well as soldiers in the troubled northern town of Gao. France's new leader vowed to be "uncompromising" in the face of terror.


Also, the UN's Children's fund, Unicef, has warned the number of acutely malnourished children in Somalia is set to soar in 2017. It comes as 2 million people in the Horn of Africa nation face starvation.


And we take a look at the Mawazine World Music festival in Rabat. Grammy-winning artist Lauryn Hill, and Ivory Coast's reggae legend Alpha Blondy are among those to grace the stage.
